Satisfactory Progress Policy

Satisfactory progress in attendance, practical and academic work is a requirement for all students enrolled in Victoria’s Academy. Students receiving funds under any Federal Title IV financial aid program must maintain satisfactory progress throughout their training in order to continue eligibility for such funds.

Attendance:
Full Time Student
Expected to attend: 140 hrs
Must attend: 125 hrs per month

FULL TIME
The maximum time allowed for students to complete each program is as follows:

Cosmetology: 20 months
Barbering: 13 months
Esthetics+ (MASTER ESTHETICS): 15 months
Massage: 13.5 months
Instructor: 7 months

NO FAULT ATTENDANCE POLICY
Full time students follow the regular school days, Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30am to 4:00pm and will have seven hours of instruction available to them each day. One half hour lunch break and two fifteen minute breaks are allowed daily. Additional breaks are optional but will be deducted from the hours for that day. Part time students will follow regular school days, Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm and will have five hours of instruction available to them each day with one fifteen minute break, no lunch break. Additional breaks are optional but will be deducted from the hours for that day.
An attendance of 140 clock hours per month is considered full time. 125 clock hours are the expected minimum allowed. An attendance of 100 clock hours per month is considered part time. 89 clock hours are the expected minimum allowed.

If a student registers for full time or part time they must complete their program under that contract. Individual documented circumstances may be considered by the management as long as the schools NO FAULT TARDY AND ABSENCE POLICY is followed.

COSMETOLOGY:
The contracted length of the 1700 hour full time program attending 35 hours per week is 13 months. This provides the student with ninety-one (91) hours of allowed absence time and three (3) teacher in service days for which the student will not be assessed as late charges. However, any student not completing the program by their contracted completion date will be assessed a charge of $150.00 per day for any additional instruction or hours needed to complete the program.
If a student reaches one hundred eighty-seven (187) hours of absences, for any reason, they will be terminated.

BARBERING: The contracted length of the 1100 hour program attending 35 hours per week is 10 months, part time is 12 months. This provides the student with fifty-six(56) hours of allowed absence time and three (3) teacher in service days for which the student will not be assessed as late charges. However, any student not completing the program by their contracted completion date will be assessed a charge of $150.00 per day for any additional instruction or hours needed to complete the program.
If a student reaches one hundred twenty-one (121) hours of absences, for any reason, they will be terminated.

ESTHETICS+ (MASTER ESTHETICS):
The contracted length of the 1250 hour program attending 35 hours per week is 10 months, part time is 13 months. This provides the student with seventy (70) hours of allowed absence time and three (3) teacher in service days for which the student will not be assessed as late charges. However, any student not completing the program by their contracted completion date will be assessed a charge of $150.00 per day for any additional instruction or hours needed to complete the program.
If a student reaches one hundred thirty-eight (138) hours of absences, for any reason, they will be terminated.

MASSAGE:
The contracted length of the 900 hour program attending 25 hours per week is 10 months. This provides the student with forty-five (45 hours of allowed absence time and three (3) teacher in service days for which the student will not be assessed as late charges. However, any student not completing the program by their contracted completion date will be assessed a charge of $150.00 per day for any additional instruction or hours needed to complete the program.
If a student reaches one hundred four (104) hours of absences, for any reason, they will be terminated.

CADET INSTRUCTOR:
The contracted length of the 600 hour program attending 35 hours per week is 5 months, part time is 7 months. This provides the student with thirty-five (35) hours of allowed absence time and three (3) teacher in service days for which the student will not be assessed as late charges. However, any student not completing the program by their contracted completion date will be assessed a charge of $150.00 per day for any additional instruction or hours needed to complete the program.
If a student reaches sixty-six (66) hours of absences, for any reason, they will be terminated.

For transfer students, allowed absences will be prorated according to the amount of hours contracted.
