WAYS TO PAY FOR SCHOOL
Do you want to go to Cosmetology, Hair Design, Barber, Master Esthetics, or Massage school to begin your career, but are worried about how you’re going to pay for it? While a career school can be costly, there are many options out there that can help make it more affordable! The career school you choose to attend should have staff available whose job is to help you work out your financing options and schedule payments within your budget.
Here are some options for financing your education at Victoria’s Academy of Cosmetology:
Financial Aid – Many cosmetology schools can offer financial aid assistance to students who demonstrate financial hardship. Students who can prove that they could not attend school without financial assistance may qualify for grants (money that does not need to be repaid). The financial aid process begins with a single form – the FAFSA, which is short for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. A Financial Aid Specialist at the school should be able to help you fill out your FAFSA paperwork. You can get more information about the different federal student aid programs by visiting the FAFSA website.
Scholarships – There are many organizations that offer scholarships to prospective students. Each scholarship is awarded based on a unique set of standards, but most take into consideration your performance in high school and your financial need. Check the listing of scholarship offers on our Financial Aid page. But don’t limit yourself just to this list. Continue to research cosmetology school scholarships and apply to as many as possible to increase your chances of winning!

Loans – If you need additional funds to pay for your career school tuition, consider getting a loan. Federal Stafford Loans are available to students who are already enrolled in an accredited cosmetology school. To be eligible, students must be enrolled at least part time in a program that leads to a degree or certificate. Repayment of student loans can often be deferred up to six months after graduation.
Payment Plans – If all else fails, try talking to the staff at the career school about flexible payment options. A school like Victoria’s Academy of Cosmetology will work with prospective students who truly want to be there. Often, the staff at the school will work one-on-one with these students to figure out a manageable, interest-free payment plan so students can comfortably make the payments while they continue their education.
If you’re serious able training to become a licensed professional, nothing should hold you back from achieving your dream! Victoria’s Academy of Cosmetology provides its students with every opportunity to complete their education at the lowest cost possible. The school is approved through the U.S. Department of Education to offer several types of financial assistance, including Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, and Federal Stafford Loans, to students who qualify.
